The native varieties of Lake Garda

We have already told you how unique the climate of Lake Garda is, a small corner of paradise embraced by the hills where the soil becomes a fruitful reserve of life. This has made the area extremely fertile for viticulture, with native varieties cultivated for centuries and of incredible value.

The Garganega grape is a treasure of Lake Garda, used in the production of white wines such as our Colle Chiara Bianco IGT. It has notes of almond and white flowers that give great elegance and freshness to the wines. It is a very versatile blend appreciated by the palate of consumers.

La Corvina is one of the most representative grapes of the Verona area and is the heart of Bardolino DOC. The acidic and lively notes and spicy scent make it perfect for fresh wines and drinks, but also more structured as Il Decanto

The Rondinella is the ideal companion of Corvina. It adds balance and harmony to wines, thanks to its pleasant floral notes. This variety is naturally resistant and grows luxuriant on the shores of the lake. It is used in several blends including Bardolino DOC

Another native variety used in typical wines such as Chiaretto is the Molinara. A blend of thin skin and pink color, appreciated for acidity and delicate fruity aromas. The perfect fragrance mix to enjoy by the lake.

A wine known throughout the world of our territory is Lugana DOC and in this case the protagonist variety is Trebbiano di Lugana. This vine gives its best when it can grow on the clay lands of Garda and expresses with vivacity the floral and mineral notes that we like so much.

Marzemino is another native red grape variety of the area. It has strong aromatic characteristics and gives the blends in which it is used original notes that express well the bond with the earth. We use it, within a mix of uvaggi, in the production of Eremus

The native varieties are just one of the unique characteristics of this territory, the best way to appreciate them all is to visit us in the cellar.
Come and taste wines that tell the territory and not only.
